Savings app offers and sign-up bonuses (October 2026)

By Chris

Every UK savings app sign-up or referral offer we could verify for October 2026, with the conditions in plain English. The two cash offers are Chip and Chase, both £50; the rest are bonus rates or in-app campaigns.

This month at a glance

These are the offers we could confirm on each provider’s own pages on 16 October 2026. We only earn from Chip’s, and we say so wherever it appears.

AppOfferMain condition
Chip£50 each by referralDeposit £1,000 into an eligible account and hold it for 90 days in a row
Chase£50 each when your friend deposits £1,000 within 30 daysNew to Chase; enter the code within 30 days

Chip: £50 each through a referral

If you join Chip through a friend’s link or code and qualify, you both get £50. The current offer runs 1 October to 31 October 2026. Chip reissues it with new dates, and so far it has been renewed every month. Our code is CHIP-XUD314.

Here are the conditions in plain English:

  • You must be new to Chip. The bonus is only for people who have never held a Chip account before.
  • Deposit £1,000 or more into the Smart Cash ISA, the Instant Access Account or the Prize Savings Account. You can split it across them.
  • Easy Access does not count. The Easy Access Saver and the Chip Pension are not on the eligible list, even though Easy Access pays the higher rate.
  • Keep at least £1,000 there for 90 days in a row. If your balance drops below £1,000 at any point, the countdown starts again from zero.
  • Finish within 120 days. Everything, including the 90-day hold, must be done within 120 days of being referred.
  • Use the link or the code. With the link, download the app within 30 days and sign up with the same email. If you type the code instead, you have 14 days after downloading to enter it. You need app version 4.56.0 or later.
  • Where it lands. The £50 goes into your Chip Instant Access Account (or Prize Savings Account if you do not have one), once all the conditions are met. Withdrawing it can take up to 5 working days, and the bonus itself does not earn interest.
  • The small print. The bonus is paid at Chip's discretion, and bonuses are not FSCS protected. Chip can change or end the offer at any time.

Read the full rules in Chip’s refer a friend terms. Our Chip referral code guide covers what to do if the bonus does not arrive, and the five-question bonus checker tells you whether you qualify.

Chip also has new-customer rate boosts, which apply whether or not you use a referral: Instant Access pays 3.51% AER for 12 months, then 3.00% AER, the Smart Cash ISA 4.68% AER for 12 months, then 3.50% AER, and Easy Access 3.81% AER for 12 months, then 3.50% AER. Rates are variable. New-customer boosts last 12 months, then the standard rate applies. If you are torn between the two easy-access accounts, our Instant Access vs Easy Access guide explains why only one counts for the bonus.

£50 in four steps

Current offer runs 1 October to 31 October 2026.

  1. 1Open our link on your phone, enter your email and download Chip within 30 days. Or type CHIP-XUD314 in the app within 14 days.
  2. 2Deposit £1,000 or more into the Smart Cash ISA, the Instant Access Account or the Prize Savings Account. You can split it between them.
  3. 3Keep at least £1,000 there for 90 days in a row. Dip below and the countdown starts again.
  4. 4The £50 is added to your Instant Access account once all the conditions are met.
  • Easy Access does not count. It pays more than Instant Access, but it is not on Chip’s eligible list. Neither is the Chip Pension.
  • New to Chip only. If you have ever held a Chip account, neither of us gets paid.
  • 120 days in total. Everything, including the 90-day hold, has to be done within 120 days of being referred.

Referral link: if you join Chip through our link or code and qualify, you and we each receive £50 from Chip. That is our only income and it does not change what we write. How we make money.

Chase: £50 referral and a boosted saver

Chase is a bank, owned by J.P. Morgan, and it has two offers running.

Refer a friend

£50 each when your friend deposits £1,000 within 30 days. In plain English: an existing Chase customer gives you a code, you open a Chase account, enter the code within 30 days and make the deposit within 30 days. The conditions from Chase’s terms: Referee must not have applied to Chase before 3 December 2025 and must enter the code within 30 days. Up to 5 codes per referrer; Chase can end the offer at any time. No end date is published. See the Chase refer a friend terms.

Boosted saver rate

New customers can get 4.5% AER for 12 months, then 2.25% variable. Chase’s summary: 2.25% AER boost for 12 months; open within your first 31 days. For new customers joining from 29 December 2025. Offer may be withdrawn at any time. Boost terms say eligible customers are contacted. That last point leaves eligibility unclear, so check the app before you move money for the boost alone. See Chase’s boosted saver page and the boost terms. Our Chip vs Chase comparison looks at what happens when both boosts end.

Plum: referral campaigns in the app

Plum runs referral campaigns, but there is no fixed public amount. Terms section 3.8: amounts and criteria change by campaign. Referees must be 18+ and new to Plum. That means the amount and the conditions you see in the app may be different next month, so screenshot the terms before you start. The general rules are in Plum’s terms.

Plum’s more visible new-customer offer is its Cash ISA bonus: 4.73% AER variable for 12 months, then 2.54%. The bonus has conditions; Plum’s FAQ says the bonus may be lost after your fourth withdrawal or if the balance drops below £100. See Plum’s Cash ISA page and our Chip vs Plum comparison.

Moneybox: bonus rates, no public referral

Moneybox’s position this month: no public referral offer; promotions shown in the app. Its promotional terms page sets out the rules for whatever is running.

The offer you can see is a bonus rate on its Cash ISA: 4.72% AER variable for 12 months, then 3.45%. Cash ISA bonus of 1.27% AER for 12 months from opening. The conditions: £500 minimum; fewer than four withdrawals a year. Cash ISA drops to the lower rate for the rest of the year after four or more withdrawals, or below £500. See the Moneybox Cash ISA page and our Chip vs Moneybox comparison.

Monzo: refer a friend, amount not published

Monzo has a refer-a-friend bonus, but it does not publish the amount on its public page. The conditions it does publish: Friend applies within 30 days of the invite and makes a first card payment within 30 days. This is a current account referral rather than a savings offer, and you need a Monzo current account to use Monzo’s Savings Pots anyway. See Monzo’s refer a friend page.

Trading 212

Trading 212 runs a free-share referral for its investing accounts. That is an investing promotion, not a savings offer, so we do not cover it. With investments, your capital is at risk.

Which offers we earn from

Only Chip’s. If you join Chip through our link or code and qualify, Chip pays us £50 as well as you. We have no referral or affiliate arrangement with Chase, Plum, Moneybox, Monzo or Trading 212, and the links to them on this page are plain links to their own terms. Read more on how we make money.

Not a savings offer, but if you are weighing up sign-up bonuses more widely: Chris also runs Energy Made Easy, a separate site about switching to Octopus Energy. It earns from Octopus referrals, and nothing on this page earns from it.

Before you sign up for any offer

  • Read the terms on the day you join. Offers change, and the version in force when you sign up is the one that counts.
  • Check you are “new”. Each provider defines it differently. Chip means never held an account; Chase uses a date.
  • Mark the deadlines. Put the deposit deadline and the end of any holding period in your calendar.
  • Look past the bonus. A one-off £50 matters less than the rate you earn for the next few years. Our guide to introductory bonus rates explains what happens when boosts end.
  • Compare the whole app. Our best savings apps comparison covers rates, withdrawals and protection side by side.

Frequently asked questions

Which savings app has the best sign-up offer?

Chip and Chase both pay £50 to a referred friend who deposits £1,000. Chip asks you to hold it for 90 days; Chase asks you to deposit it within 30 days. Plum runs campaigns in its app with changing amounts. Moneybox and Plum lead with 12-month Cash ISA bonuses instead of cash rewards.

Can I get the Chip £50 if I had Chip before?

No. The bonus is only for people who have never held a Chip account before. That includes closed accounts. If you have had Chip before, look at the other offers on this page, or compare standard rates rather than sign-up perks, because the new-customer rate boosts will not apply either.

Does the Chip Easy Access Saver count for the bonus?

No. The Easy Access Saver and the Chip Pension are not eligible. Deposit your £1,000 into the Smart Cash ISA, the Instant Access Account or the Prize Savings Account instead. You can split it between them, and you can move money into Easy Access once the bonus has been paid if you want the higher rate.

When does the Chip referral offer end?

Current offer runs 1 October to 31 October 2026. Chip reissues the offer with new dates and has so far renewed it each month. The terms in force when you are referred are the ones that apply to you, so check Chip’s referral terms on the day you join.

Is a sign-up bonus taxable?

We have not found HMRC guidance written specifically about savings app referral bonuses, so we do not want to guess. If you are close to your Personal Savings Allowance, check HMRC guidance or ask a tax adviser. Interest earned on the money you deposit is taxable in the usual way unless it sits in an ISA.

Why does this page not list more offers?

We only list offers we can check on the provider’s own pages. Several apps run offers only inside the app, or change them without notice, and some promotions are for investing products, which this site does not cover. Every offer here was checked on 16 October 2026.
